A guided nature walk programme completes a year in Bengaluru's Cubbon Park even as allegations of bribery surface against a police officer.

On Tuesday, the Karnataka State Department of Horticulture, along with local walking groups, celebrated the first anniversary of Cubbon Walks. Around 40 people joined the special anniversary walk in Shri Chamarajendra (Cubbon) Park. The programme, launched on July 27, 2025, runs every Saturday and Sunday from 7.30 a.m. to 9 a.m. It aims to educate participants about the park's flora and fauna. Expert naturalist guides lead the walks. Till date, about 1,852 participants have taken part. For future walks, tickets cost ₹200 for adults and ₹50 for children above 10 years. Only 30 people can join each 90-minute walk. The walks are held in both English and Kannada.
A police sub-inspector (PSI) attached to the Avalahalli Police Station faces scrutiny after an audio clip went viral. In the clip, he allegedly demands money to drop charges against a shopkeeper accused in an illegal LPG sale racket. The complainant, Deepa Ram, claims his LPG cylinder business had a valid licence. He says the police wrongly treated it as illegal, raided his shop, and seized cylinders. Ram alleges the PSI, identified as Harinath Babu, demanded ₹1.25 lakh to release the cylinders and later collected ₹1.8 lakh, with further demands. Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said the matter would be examined.
